Dr. Esteban Santiago is a Cornea, Complex Anterior Segment, Ocular Surface and Refractive Surgery Specialist. He completed his Medical School and was trained as an Ophthalmologist in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dr. Santiago trained in Ophthalmic Ultrasound receiving a certificate from the Argentinian Society of Ophthalmology. Then he traveled to Canada to do a 2-year clinical Cornea, Ocular Surface and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute, Ottawa, Canada. After finishing his fellowship, he returned to Argentina to start his private practice. Besides his private practice Dr.Esteban Santiago is a Pro bono consultant in one of the biggest pediatric hospitals in the country. Dr. Santiago has received several grants for his research and has participated as an author and/or co-author, presenting his research in major meetings nationally and internationally. Some of his research interests are: new techniques and how to improve outcomes in ocular surface reconstruction, endothelial transplantation, early implementation and trial of new technologies.
